Welcome to the Official Website of Skateball and the NSA
What is Skateball?
Skateball is Team Sport that was created to add an entirely new element to skateboarding. Skateboarding focuses on the individual and self-improvement, which is what makes skateboarding such a positive activity. However it also creates a rift between other skaters, not simply because of varying skill, but also due to the lack of a communication involved. Skating with friends is still an awesome and rewarding experience, like being there when your buddy either lands a sick new trick or eats it hard. But that experience is still very much focused on the individual. Skateball brings teams of skaters together with a common goal where interaction is a large part of the strategy involved.
Rules Overview
Skateball is played on a modified street-hockey rink using a small foam football for easy gripping while doing tricks. The official rules are detailed in the document below but in a nut-shell, the player in possession of the ball attempts to land tricks to increase their pocket score, which is only added to the scoreboard if a goal is made before they either miss a trick or lose the ball. Each successful pass adds a multiplier to the pocket score, and players must either shoot or pass before the shot-clock reaches zero. The game pulls elements from all sports to make one awesome one with true skateboarding at its core. Check out the rules below to learn how to play!
